THE DAY BEFORE Sunday 1st August at 9.30pm

If you’ve ever been curious to witness the creative chaos that takes place in the hours preceding a fashion show, then tune in to this amazing new behind the scenes documentary series The Day Before on the Documentary Channel, Sunday 1st August at 9.30pm.

Premiering with a special feature length documentary from the series’ much acclaimed film-maker Loïc Prigent – Mark Jacobs and Louis Vuitton. Marc Jacobs is known as the most influential designer of his generation and this witty portrait follows Jacobs as he balances roles as artistic director of venerable French house Louis Vuitton and his own American line, in meetings, preparing collections and at high-profile shows. You learn about what drives Marc, the tedious process of designing a whole collection as Louis Vuitton’s creative director and the business of fashion in general.

Viewers will be treated to an intimate insight into the influential fashion genius that is Jacobs. The documentary is a must-see for anyone who holds even the slightest interest in Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs or fashion in general.

On Sunday 8th August at 9.00pm, Loïc Prigent’s series The Day Before premieres. An amazing behind the scenes series which follows some of the biggest names in the fashion business for the 36 hour period leading up to their runway shows. The stellar line-up of designers includes Sonia Rykiel, Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Karl Lagerfeld for Fendi, and Jean Paul Gaultier—as they prepare their creations for the catwalk.

Each house has its own unique energy, mood, character and rhythm - and its colorful moments of panic, last minute inspiration and ego-unleashing.

France's "Queen of Knits," designer Sonia Rykiel, prepares to celebrate her independent family-owned firm's 40th anniversary with an October Parisian show and explores the sometimes tense relationship between the French fashion grande dame and her C.E.O.-daughter, Nathalie.

“I passed the baton to her, but I kept a hand on the baton,” the elderly designer remarks to the camera, crystallizing their difficulties.

France's Jean Paul Gaultier, renowned for his unforgettable costumes for Madonna and Kylie Minogue, mixes wit and magic in a Parisian haute couture show and Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, the young visionaries behind the edgy and elegant Proenza Schouler label, prepare to debut their Fall 2009 line.

For all the glitz, glamour, passion and stress that is the world of fashion, tune into the Documentary Channel for a behind the scenes look at some of the biggest names in the industry. Loïc Prigent’s Mark Jacobs and Louis Vuitton premieres on 1st August at 9.30pm and his follow-up series The Day Before on Sunday 8th August at 9.30pm.
